I have been doing web development for over ten years. I have been working with Drupal exclusively for the last year and am currently doing independent contract work (1099).
For the most part, being a contractor has been a pleasant experience and I am willing to continue. However, I do miss certain things about full-time employment. Namely, interaction with peers and co-workers. It is lonely working at home all day :) I also miss working with other developers, brainstorming, solving problems, and so forth. I work best in an environment where I can both inspire and be inspired.
With all this in mind, I will consider taking on full-time employment in the San Diego area. The work must be Drupal based. Ideally, I'll find a startup who's chosen to use Drupal to build its product and needs developers already experienced with building customized Drupal sites. I am an active contributor to the Drupal community. I'm involved in testing, patch development, module maintenance and particularly promoting the use of Drupal by way of the Drupal forums, the #drupal_support channel on IRC and articles on this site written to help others with common Drupal tasks.
